French Garden Kandy ★★★

Swimming pool and staff.

Food was not up to the leval

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to others! The hotel is run by a lovely family. The room is a good size with a lovely large bed and good mosquito net. The room also has AC. The bathroom was lovely and big too. Very clean throughout. They serve food and drinks and there is a lovely terrace big enough for all guests to sit and eat/drink with a great view. We particularly loved the breakfast. So much food, lots of fruit too! The swimming pool is lovely. They clean it regularly and there are plenty of sun beds around it. We were looking for a place outside of the city which had more nature around and the location of this hotel was exactly what we wanted. It was around 7km from the centre of Kandy (approx a 20 minute tuk tuk or taxi ride). There is a town which you can walk to (about 1km from the hotel). Here there are supermarkets, wine stores and a few places to eat. Overall great value for the money and I would recommend this place.

WiFi could be weak at times but otherwise no issues whatsoever!

The pool was big and clean. Room was relatively clean and price was good. Someone came in the morning to cut coconuts off the tree which was as fun to watch and we had fresh coconuts in the morning! Very tasty.

There was ants in the bathroom maybe would be ok on the 2nd floor. It takes a long time to get food/drinks like over an hour. It feels quite remote so would be better if they had snacks/drinks to buy at the property like a shop. It felt like when we asked for something someone would literally have to go out and get it. We ordered lunch on one day as a group and although the food was very tasty it wasn’t in the right serving. Eg one friend ordered Kottu and got a huge portion. Three people ordered chicken curry and it was barely bigger than the Kottu like we should share it all together but not really what we ordered.

Nice place

Lovely hotel in very peaceful surroundings with fantastic pool. The team at the hotel were great, Ashan friendly and helpful and the guy who does all the little jobs etc was great too, got the kids an inflatable unicorn for the pool which made their stay! Rooms had good facilities and were very clean and spacious. Didn't eat there at all so can't comment on others reviews of the food ????‍️ and yes it's a little out of Kandy but you know where you are going when you book so can't complain! We walked to the bus stop (15mins) whenever we went into the city. Would recommend!

We saw the biggest bloody spider we have Ever seen whilst there (& the longest thunderstorm) but Definitely not the owners fault also access to a fridge would've been perfect.

Rooms had mosquito nets. Seating area outside the room. The pool was nice.

Wonderful hotel outside Kandy, with beautiful nature . Very nice swimming pool and garden. Room was good and clean. Good breakfast

During our stay many families with children, that where very noisy.

The pool was great and my kids loved having a dip in it. The host was super friendly and made sure the staff met all our requirements. They also made dinner and breakfast to our request which was very tasty. We spent only one night there because of a transit to another city.

breakfast limited options. food comes from outside. about 7 KM from city centers in Kandy. difficult to get transport after 8PM to the facility from Kandy.

Good service. Food little bit expenses but OK. Cleanness not good around the pool.
